Om dat te kunnen weergeven werd het volgende gedaan. De juiste fonts werden gedownload en die werden in de directory C:\WINDOWS\FONTS neergezet. Gekozen werd voor Unicode Fonts namelijk: deze . Uit de praktijk blijkt dat Windows XP op dit moment nodig is om de karakters weer te geven !

Lao is written by means of a language script - to the socalled Brahmi Script. The age of the written language (of the script) is mentioned in: the history of writing . Below you will find the Lao "alphabet" and a simple text in Lao. In order to present it in the correct way Lao fonts were downloaded and were put in the directory C:\WINDOWS\FONTS. We used these Unicode Fonts and found out that Windows XP is needed for a correct presentation.

Een aantal karakters wordt alleen verkregen via combinaties van HTML-codes. De symbolen die b.v. lijken op een punt of op een "dakje" komen in combinaties onder of boven de andere karakters terecht. Er is nog een presentatie-manier: plaatjes gebruiken. Deze methode werd eveneens gebruikt: kijk hiervoor naar het alfabet hieronder.

For the presentation of the characters HTML-codes were used. Make the characters yourself by using html-codes: look for more information at this site . Note: characters that resemble tiny symbols or digits appear above or below the other characters. This situation will occur if you combine different HTML-codes. If you need different language-scripts at ONE PAGE use hexa-decimal unicodes: look at the font page for the Lao examples.
The other way of presentation is: using pictures. This method was also used: look at the alphabet below.
