Dis, rex inferorum, Iovi fratri salutem dicit. si vales, bene est; ego veleo.
nunquam antea tibi epistulam miseram; nunc autem, necessitate coactus, hanc epistulam tibi scribebam. nam nisi tu statim mihi auxilium feres, mox rex sine populo ero. quid enim? vivit in terris Æsculapius quidam, medicus omnium qui unquam fuerunt sapientissimus. is nonnunquam homines moribundos a morte servavit et tali modo mihi clientes eripuit, sibi collegit. magna iam manus hominum cotidie gratias ei agunt; manui isti etiam nonnullos adicit, quos iam in regno meo receperam. nam non solum moribundos in vita retinere, etiam mortuos a morte revocare solet. si homini isti semper id impunĕ facere licebit, mox solus hic in regno meo ambulabo! quamobrem te oro: hominem qui tali rei studet gravi poena castïga, et frater fratri auxilium fer!
