Hieronder staat een tekst in Hindi, het Hindi alfabet [ en enkele belangrijke links - helemaal onderaan ! ]. Om deze te kunnen weergeven werd het volgende gedaan. Eerst werden fonts gedownload: FONT "RagHindi" (raghu.ttf) en die werden in de directory C:\WINDOWS\FONTS neergezet. [ N.B. downloaden van "Arial Unicode" levert hetzelfde resultaat op ]. Kijk hieronder voor de download-sites. Daarna werd op deze site een zgn. "meta-tag" gezet, die ervoor zorgt dat de Browser de tekenset UTF-8 kiest.

De Hindi karakters 1 t/m 53 bestaan uit drie tekens. De eerste twee zijn à en ¤ en daarna volgt een derde, die in feite het Hindi karakter bepaalt. De karakters 54 t/m 64 bestaan ook uit drie tekens. De eerste twee zijn à en ¥ en daarna volgt opnieuw een derde. Voor elk Hindi karakter zijn dus steeds drie symbolen of tekens nodig, die u zelf kunt maken. Kijk hiervoor op deze site .

Er is nog een andere methode: u gebruikt HTML-codes . Maak zelf de gewenste Hindi karakters door gebruik te maken van deze html-codes . Wilt u diverse "language-scripts" (karakters en schrijfwijzen) op EEN PAGINA, dan kunt u beter hexa-decimale unicodes gebruiken. Kijk op de font page voor voorbeelden in Hindi / Devanagari script.
Er is nog een derde manier: plaatjes gebruiken. Deze methode werd eveneens gebruikt: kijk hiervoor naar het Hindi Alfabet.

The Hindi chararters from the Hindi Alphabet are made by using three symbols. The first and second symbol for the characters 1-53 are à en ¤ and after that a third follows. So the third character determines the Hindi character. The characters 54-64 can be made by the symbols à en ¥ and a third one. This means that every Hindi character consists of three symbols. You can make those symbols yourself. The information you need is present at this site .

There is another way: you can use HTML-codes . Make the Hindi characters yourself by using html-codes: look for more information at this site . If you need different language-scripts at ONE PAGE use hexa-decimal unicodes: look at the font page for the examples in Devanagari language-script.
The third way is: using pictures. This method was also used: look at the Hindi Alphabet.

Enkele Hindi karakters staan NIET in onderstaand Hindi alfabet, omdat ze alleen zichtbaar worden in combinaties met andere karakters. Kijk b.v. op: Ukindia/zhin001.htm . Twee belangrijke gecombineerde karakters zullen hieronder wel getoond worden - als voorbeeld. Om dit te te verduidelijken wordt karakter 38 - (de P in het overzicht) gecombineerd met twee andere. De letter P wordt op internet weergegeven door: à en ¤ en � . Als u daarachter zou toevoegen: ि , dan krijgt u dit te zien. Aan de linkerkant staat nu de toevoeging. Het andere ontbrekende karakter zit aan de rechterkant en ziet er in een combinatie met de Hindi letter P zo uit: .
NOTA BENE: Een combinatie met andere letters dan de P levert een vergelijkbaar resultaat op.

A few Hindi characters are not presented in the Hindi alphabet below, because they are a product of a combination of characters. Look p.e. at: Ukindia/zhin001.htm . This will be made clear by means of the following example. Character 38 - (the letter P) is combined with two others. At the internet de P is presented by: à and ¤ and � . Adding this: ि results in the following combination . At the left you can see what has been added. The second example looks like: . The original letter P is changed: at the right side of the letter you can see what has been added.
NOTE: If you would choose another letter than the P in this example, you would get an similiar result! Many characters can be combined at the same way - this leads to socalled "combined glyphs" [ information-source: Sunil Bhadekar ].
