This is one of the many language-sites from "www.wjsn.nl" (particulary about: writing and language-scripts). This site is about (old) english, the english language, literature, the alphabet, etc..
(Old) English writing and the characters that are used belong to a specific language script , the way it is written. The age of the "written english language" (of the script) is mentioned in: the history of writing .
In order to present some of the Old English characters HTML-codes were used. Most of the characters belong to the category "Latin", "Latin Extended B" and "Armenian". More information can be found at the site: use of html-codes . If you need different language-scripts at ONE PAGE use hexa-decimal unicodes: look at the font page for examples.
