Hieronder staat het Bengali alfabet [ en enkele belangrijke links ]. Om deze te kunnen weergeven werd het volgende gedaan. Eerst werden fonts gedownload: FONT "Rupali" (rupali.ttf) en die werden in de directory C:\WINDOWS\FONTS neergezet. Kijk desgewenst hieronder voor de download-sites. Daarna werd op deze site een zgn. "meta-tag" gezet, die ervoor zorgt dat de Browser de tekenset UTF-8 kiest.

Below you will find the Bangla alphabet [ at the bottom you will find some - important - links ]. In order to present it in the correct way two things have been taken care off. First: Bengali fonts were downloaded: FONT "Rupali" (rupali.ttf). and were put in the directory C:\WINDOWS\FONTS. See below for the downloads. Second: a socalled "meta-tag" was put on this site. The meta-tag sets the Internet Browser to the chararter-set "charset UTF-8".

The other way is: using pictures. This method was also used: look at the alphabet below.

Enkele karakters staan NIET in onderstaand alfabet, omdat ze alleen zichtbaar worden in combinaties met andere karakters. Dat is ook het geval bij het Hindi. Kijk b.v. op: Hindi Page .

A few characters are not presented in the Bengali alphabet below, because they are a product of a combination of characters. This is also the case in Hindi. Some characters can be combined and that leads to socalled "combined glyphs".
